Spots to Stop

Places you might want to check out

If you are strolling around town, here are some places you might want to check out.

Lower End Public Park

At the western end of Spanish Wells you will find Lower End Public Park. At the far end of the park is Abner's Pavilion. This is a great place to enjoy cool breezes and stunning sunsets. It is probably the most popular spot on the island with both visitors and locals alike.
This area is also a hot spot for enjoying the beach. Whether you're in the mood for beach combing, seabathing or just building sandcastles, this is the place. It has become even more inviting with the recent addition of an alluring swing set embedded in the water to provide a new kind of fun.

Shipyard Gazebo

A popular early morning stop is the Shipyard Gazebo, where you can sit and watch the sun rise. You can enjoy views of Gun Point and Jeans Bay, and watch as boats navigate in and out of the harbour.

The Tower Hill

The water storage tank  that supplies Spanish Wells and Russell Island with water is located on the Harbour at 11th Street. A water tank (tower) once stood at the top of the hill but was replaced with the tank below. From the tower hill you can get a look at the surrounding area to the south which overlooks Eleuthera, Lobster Cay and Meeks Patch.

Spanish Wells Museum

The Spanish Wells Museum is a point of interest for those that would like to discover more of the islands history. It is located right next to the Islander Shop.
